Why Good Products Struggle to Find Their Market

It’s a common pattern: the product genuinely works, customers who use it are satisfied, and yet growth stays flat. The product usually isn’t the problem.

Positioning is. Without a clear point of view on who the product is for, what specific problem it solves better than the alternative, and how that’s communicated consistently, prospective customers have to do the work of figuring out whether it’s for them. Most won’t bother.

Fixing this rarely means changing the product. It means doing the unglamorous work: defining the ICP precisely, stress-testing the messaging against real objections, and picking channels deliberately instead of being everywhere thinly. Clarity, applied consistently, usually outperforms a better feature set.
